Let's Go Back to Church - Screencast

Let's Go Back to Church

Like David said in PS 122;1 "I was Glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord", and when I think of going to church there is just no church I’d rather go into, than "The Living Waters Way of the Cross Church".  Here's a video of my home church and the glorious times I shared at this annointed place of worship.

Man Can Not Live by Bread Alone

For believers to get an understanding of God's holy word, they must read the bible daily.  The bible lets us know in 2 Timothy 3:16, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness"  The bible encourages us all that man can not live by bread alone, but instead by every word that proceeds out the mouth of God.  Please use the this link to my bible reading spreadsheet to begin your weekly readings.  Follow the instructions to record your progress to completing the bible in one year.  CIT 154 students are asked to sign in and comment on each weekly bible reading completed.

Marvel Not..You Must Be Born Again

The bible speaks of Pharisee named Nicodemus, who came to Jesus one night, in Chapter 7 of the book of John (John 3:7), and he said “Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him”.  And the bible says, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
So quite naturally Nicodemus thought how is this possible, as many of you who are also unaware of Gods plan of salvation for you life, might also wonder.  And he asked Jesus, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? And the bible says Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. “Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again”.

I want to extend this same message to all you readers out there, who have not been born again, and may even marvel at the thought that Jesus said in his word that this is the only way to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.  And what does the Lord Jesus mean by being born again? You may ask.  Well beloved I just want to let you know first that Jesus loves you and he has made the way to him in heaven very easy for them that believe. In fact Jesus said, he said in the 11th Chapter of Matthew, “For my yoke is easy and my burden is light”.  In other words what he requires is not hard at all.  It’s as simple as being baptized in the water, in the name of Jesus Christ and then being baptized in the Holy Spirit.  This is what Jesus meant; when he said, “you must be born of in the water and the spirit”. Water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ associates a believer with the burial of Jesus.  It is symbolic of burying and leaving behind our sins, rising from the watery grave to walk with Christ in a new life.  Here is a slideshow of baptisms being conducted by churches abroad.

Despite the many discussions and arguments among scholars regarding the baptism, the fact remains that Jesus embraced the principle and he presented himself to be baptized by John in the Jordan River, to fulfill all righteousness (Matthew 3:13-16); he then commissioned the practice of Baptism during his ministry when he told the apostles in the book of Matthew (Matt 28:19) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Moreover the apostles obeyed the command of Christ, just as we believers do today and continued the practice of water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, when Peter stood up on the day of Pentecost and said to the multitudes in Acts 2:38 “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins”.  And with those words I leave you and encourage you to learn more of Jesus Christ for your own salvation…for truly we are saved by baptism.  And marvel not…you must be born again.

A Quick Start Guide to Podcasting

When trying to decide on a book and web 2.0 app I begun to take a close look at my blog and asked what was missing.  Besides more content and blogs from yours truly, I realized that it needed another dimension, to bring my Christian commentaries to life.  Something special added that would draw readers to the word of God and The Windows of Heaven.  I selected Podcasting for my web 2.0 topic and my report is on a digital book from our Safari Tech Library, entitled “A Quick Start Guide to Podcasting” written by Mark Harnett and published by Kogan Page on Oct 28, 2011.  Podcasting is a type of digital media consisting of an episodic series of files (either audio or video) subscribed to and dowloaded through the web or streamed online to a computer or mobile device.  I found this to be very easy to read and the instructions provided to get you starting your own podcasting was just as the title said “A Quick Start”.  I’ve had some experience with Podcasting, as I self-taught myself using another book I purchased from Borders, and I must say it was anything but quick.  It contained so much technical jargon, and in depth information on sounds, acoustics and analysis that you feel like you a have to be a musician, rather than a blogger to learn the application.  But not so, with “A Quick Start Guide to Podcasting”, as this is written for the everyday blogger, website owner, fundraiser, aspiring broadcaster, shop or service that want to quickly learn podcasting to enhance their product.  And that’s how the introduction of the book reads, as it enlightens readers on the array of uses for Podcasting and Vodcasting (video podcasting).  Next this book gives you the keys to recording yourself naturally, without sounding scripted and rehearsed.  It simply explains how you to write the ear, and create a story that the listener, and finding the right words and voice to create a great podcast.  Without being scientific this book illustrated to science of podcasting. Next the book teaches you how to conduct interviews, as you may not be telling the story, but instead recording a conversation with clients, suppliers or someone else, at which time they would be the storytellers.  This is especially helpful for aspiring broadcasters and the like.  However in my opinion, the only drawback to this book is there too much information of interviews.  The who and how to interview is enough instruction to me; but it gets too much in depth with the interview relationship, with lengthy commentary that I thought was a bit too much. Nevertheless, the book makes up for it the next two chapters (Chap 3 & 4) as it gets
down to the meat and potatoes; “How to Record your Podcast” and “How to Edit Audio.   It starts out by advising that podcasting does not require expensive equipment, like recording devices, microphones etc. especially when they can’t save you from sounding lousy.  But instead you’d be much better off with a cheap device set up properly.  It continues by giving some brief information on how to get good sound quality, where to record and where to place the microphone. It then finalizes your production with instruction on converting your file to mp3 format, with free software and uploading your finished recording, even to iTunes or other free host sites if you so desire.  This is all done while holding true to the books true claim that the object of the book is not to blind you with science, but to teach you the secrets the professionals know, so you can see how easy it is to produce your own podcast.  But enough talk about the instruction, please click the podcast link below that I created using the information in “A Quick Start Guide to Podcasting”.

                                       The Windows of Heaven

I trust that you see by the quality of the recording that this book was very informative and believe me it was quick and easy.  In conclusion, the final chapters of the book informs you how to set up your podcasts for the “Big Time”, RSS feeds, syndication and understanding copyrights for your work.  All in all I thought this was a quick and easy read, and I would recommend it to anyone who want to step his or her product up to a top notch Podcasting.

All For Himself

As a child many of us were prepared for life by our parents or a guardian; we were given instructions and guidance to help us find our purpose in this life, that we may be able to survive as adults.  Perhaps your parents prepared for this life and encouraged you that your purpose is whatsoever you desired for yourself. Whether it is to be a professional, intellectual, celebrity, athlete, artist or any other occupation you pursue; and if by chance you are content and maybe even successful, then you become persuaded that this is your purpose in life. That God created you to do, what it is that you do.
But beloved the truth is: God created you All For Himself. The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. That would be you and I, we are his creation for himself; but even so the bible tells us in ~Isaiah 43:7, “Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.
So you the Lord made you for himself and created you to glorify him in all that you do. He created you to praise him to worship him to serve him, to please him. And his pleasure is to have us all for himself to love for eternity, to shower us with his wonderful grace that we may enter into his rest, to be with him in the Kingdom of Heaven. He said in John: If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
And even if you choose not to serve him, but deny his love, and refuse to come unto him. He still loves you and is patiently waiting for you to come. But know this; if you choose to serve another master, the devil, then your life will end with eternal damnation. For Proverbs proclaim: “The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil” ~Proverbs 16:4

So beloved when you seek to know your purpose in this life, seek him who made you All for himself

One Thing I Desire

As I think of all the things I desire, more than anything in life; it's to live forever with the Lord Jesus Christ. You see that's truly where my affections are. Above...in Heaven. No, I don't want to be rich more than anything in this world, because just like this dust of a frame that am, that will dissolve and fade away to be no more, so will all the fortune, fame and wordly things that I would hope to obtain. Oh what a joy it would be... to be with Jesus for Eternity in the Kingdom of Heaven.

So I live today in this sinful, perverse and wicked world, with Joy...Unspeakable joy, knowing that if I just hold on to my faith, that he'll soon be back for me, as he promised. If I be obedient to his word and keep myself unspotted from this world, one day he'll crack the sky and come for me, his beloved bride. I dare say if you don't have the same desire, then surely you don't know how good and sweet the Lord is. Surely you don't know him, and why he died for you. You don't know the power of his resurrection. If this is you, who don't share my desire, please join us here at this spiritual blog and allow us to minister unto you, that you may Taste and see, that the Lord is Good.
